The Canmore Community Cruisers are pleased to be partnering with the Canmore Folk Music Festival to offer secure bike parking this year. This makes it even more convenient and enjoyable to GO BY BIKE to Centennial Park. Enjoy the fabulous mountain scenery and local vibe as you pedal from your home or accommodations without the need to search for parking. This is the best way to travel to the Folk Festival with close by, no hassle, no cost parking awaiting you on arrival.
After entry at the Main Gate, walk your bike along the paved path right to the fenced bike coral at the rear of Lawrence Grassi Middle School. Cruiser volunteers will put a numbered tag on your bike and give you a matching claim check. You then park your bike in the corral. For extra security, you can also throw on you own bike lock.
The bike coral will be supervised as follows:
?Saturday: 3:30 pm – 11:30 pm
?Sunday 9:30 am – 11:30 pm
?Monday 9:30 am – 10:30 pm
Should the bike corral reach capacity, there are additional bike racks outside the fenced corral where you can lock up your bike.
If you are a resident of Canmore but haven’t used your bike much for years, drop by the Cruiser’s HUB workshop (rear of the Canmore Rec Centre) any Wednesday from 6 pm – 9 pm to get it ride-ready. If you are staying in a local accommodation, check ahead of time to inquire about bike storage if you bring your bike. Keep in mind that a number of our accommodations have great bike parking/storage or a fleet of bikes available for guests. Our many bike friendly businesses can help you with maps and directions.
The Canmore Folk Festival was proud to be Canmore’s first-ever bike-friendly special event in 2014 (video) and we are excited to be offering this improved secure bike parking service this year for our 40th anniversary!
